Making Your Next Presentation The Perfect One
Making Your Next Presentation The Perfect OneThe Do My Presentation series of articles will get you prepared for your next presentation. In the first three articles in this series, we explored what information to include in a prepared presentation.I also included a sample presentation (now with black and white graphics) as well as some ideas for promotional material that could be used during a presentation. Next, I will discuss how to tell if your presentation is ready for delivery. Finally, we will look at the perfect delivery of a presentation.Preparation should begin on the first day of the project. You may be nervous, excited, or both. But on the day you will be making your presentation, make sure that the people who will be there are relaxed and focused. That means everything about the presentation should be organized. A good starting point is a preliminary overview of the project. With a preliminary overview, you can avoid creating a lot of unnecessary documentation at the start of the project. Using this outline, follow it through the rest of the process to ensure that everything is done properly. We have discussed formal preparation and informal preparation. Formal preparation involves preparing all the information you will need to deliver the presentation. Some of the most important information needed for a presentation is the topics and the supporting materials. From here, the executive summary of the presentation will be completed. An overview of the project will not necessarily need information about the format of the presentation. But you should get the facts, details, and examples right. You should also make sure that there is plenty of time for questions and comments throughout the presentation. Even better, at the end of the presentation, ask anyone who attended the presentation to tell you whether or not the information was helpful and informative. After you have all the data you need, it is time to turn it into a presentation so that everyone in t he demo group can see and hear the material. If possible, try to arrange the workgroup so that each person can view the same version of the presentation. This is a common way to enhance the comprehension of the group. In the Do My Presentation series, we covered what information to include in a prepared presentation. In part two, we will look at the perfect delivery of a presentation.
